This exhibition is part of the "Hors-les-murs (Beyond the Walls)" program, which showcases the Fondation Louis Vuitton's collection in Espace Louis Vuitton locations in Tokyo, Munich, Venice, Beijing, Seoul, and Osaka, aiming to implement international projects and make the works accessible to a wider audience.
Mark Leckey's diverse activities intersect at the crossroads of pop culture and counter-culture. Combining elements such as youth, rave, pop, nostalgia, social class studies, and British history, he merges sculpture, film, sound, performance, and collages following the principles of readymade. His works are truly appreciated when popular culture is perceived as a source that generates sophisticated, worthy, and authentic artworks.
In this exhibition, the Fondation Louis Vuitton will present the collection pieces "Fiorucci Made Me Hardcore (10th-anniversary remastered version)" (1999-2003-2010) and "Felix the Cat" (2013) by Mark Leckey as part of the "Hors-les-murs (Beyond the Walls)" program.
